Foundation
ISO 9000 & Quality Management
Quality management and ISO implementation became the foundation
of how I approach organizations, systems, processes, and change.
The Challenge
I worked with organizations to define and document business processes,
develop quality management systems, prepare teams for certification,
support internal and external audits, and build continuous improvement
into day-to-day operations.
My Role
ISO and quality management became the foundation of how I approach
systems, people, process design, organizational change, and technology.
That philosophy later shaped Vision Quest and continues to influence
how I approach enterprise transformation today.
The Lasting Impact
ISO and quality management shaped the management philosophy
that later influenced Vision Quest, systems development,
organizational transformation, and technology strategy.
Process Transformation
Enterprise Process Transformation
Following work across departmental boundaries to understand
how customers, people, information, processes, and technology
interact as one organizational system.
The Challenge
Complex business processes crossed multiple teams,
systems, communication channels, and ownership boundaries,
creating numerous opportunities for delay and failure.
My Role
Trace the process from beginning to end, identify friction,
clarify ownership, and expose where organizational structure
and technology were working against the desired outcome.
The Lasting Impact
The work reinforced an approach I continue to use today:
understand the whole organizational system before attempting
to optimize any individual part of it.
Large-Scale Organizational Change
Jail Management System Transformation
Contributing to a large, multi-year modernization effort spanning
business processes, integrations, data, reporting, vendors,
partner agencies, and operational change.
The Challenge
Replace decades of legacy systems and processes while maintaining
operational continuity across a highly interconnected environment.
My Role
Work across process, data, integrations, reporting, and operational
teams to understand dependencies and help translate needs into workable solutions.
The Lasting Impact
The work reinforced the importance of treating enterprise technology
as an organizational system rather than a collection of applications.
Enterprise Data Strategy
Enterprise Data Strategy
Separating day-to-day transaction processing from the long-term
information needs of the organization so history, reporting,
analytics, and institutional knowledge can be preserved and used.
The Challenge
Operational systems are designed to process current transactions.
They are not necessarily designed to preserve historical context,
support enterprise analytics, or serve as the organization's
long-term source of knowledge.
My Role
Develop the business and architectural case for a separate
enterprise data environment that could preserve history,
consolidate information, support reporting and analytics,
and reduce dependence on production systems.
The Lasting Impact
The work reinforced the importance of treating data as a durable
organizational asset — preserving not only today's transactions,
but the history and context needed for future reporting,
accountability, analysis, and decision-making.
